Selective Pallet Rack rack is the most widely used storage rack in warehouses. It improves storage efficiency by providing a way to utilize vertical space. The selective rack allows direct access to each pallet and simple stock management. It is adaptable to any product volume, weight or size and it can be reconfigured and added on to easily. The most common style of Selective Pallet Rack Rack is Teardrop Style.
The term “selective” means that you can unload any pallet from the system without having to move any other pallet. In this aspect, such pallet racking systems provide operators with the most adaptable option for storage. Selective Rack is ideal for storing multiple SKU’s.
Pallets rest on the horizontal load beams that are held in place by connectors engaging with the holes in upright beams. The most common size bay of selective racking is 96” long to accommodate (2) Standard 40” W x 48” L pallets side by side with some wiggle room for forklift access and placement. The clear height between beam levels, or the “elevation”, can be easily adjusted to accommodate different pallet heights. Wire Mesh Decking is typically laid over the front and back beam to provide a safe surface for the pallet to sit on. Pallet Support bars can also be used to add another level of support for pallets.
Selective Pallet Rack Racking can also be used for standard box storage or an order picking operation. Multiple levels can be added with shorter clear height elevations in order to utilize vertical space for box storage. Many customers will incorporate either a rolling safety ladder, order picker, or stock picker in order to access the upper levels of Selective Pallet Rack racking.
Since Selective Pallet Rack racking systems are designed for instant access to stock or unload every pallet, they offer ease of access where you require it. Every bay of Selective Pallet Rack rack is built by joining vertical upright frames with horizontal load beams and is available in various configurations, capacities, and sizes to meet your specific needs.
